In 2009, the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit was Dispatched to Chernerus in order to tip the balance of the Chernarussian Civil War in favor of the Chernarussian Defense Force. The Marines are skilled in asymetrical warfare and are backed up by superior weapons and technology.

The Marine Corps deployed the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit, along with a dispatchment of Force Recon special forces, was dispatched to Chernarus in 2009 in order to support the Chernarussian Defense Force after the September incident. Initially deployed off the coast in the Green Sea, aboard the USS Khe Sanh, it was hoped their presence would stabilize the region, when in fact their presence worsened relations. Events in Chernarus during Operation: Harvest Red showed effective ability, with effective deployment of Force Recon, within several hours of the invasion Chernogorsk was seized, CDF forces in the region were reunited and the Chedaki leadership was in American hands. One week later, most of the Chedaki forces were in the northern region with only minor insurgent groups operating in the Krasnastov area.
Equipment[]
- Marines wear MARPAT Camouflage and are equipped with state-of-the-art personal weapons such as M16A4 Assault Rifles and M240 Light Machine Guns.
- Standard part of ground forces are LAV-25 Armored Personel Carriers, tracked AAV Armored Personnel Carriers and M1A2 Abrams Tanks.
- Air Support is provided by MV-22 "Osprey" Transports, MH-60S Seaknight and UH-1Y Venom Helicopters. Ground Support and CAS is provided by AH-1Z Cobra Helicopters and F-35B VTOL Aircraft.
- Indirect Support is provided by unmanned aerial vehicles and various artillery platforms.
